I am a 26-year-old artist. I was born with Down Syndrome and enjoy coming to Spark Studio to express myself with friends. At Spark Studio I have a lot of fun and enjoy socialising with others’. I can focus on my work, learn new techniques and it inspires me a lot.

I particularly enjoy Thursday’s Visual Arts Focus Group where I am developing my career as an artist in New Zealand. I enjoy the input from my tutors who are friendly and encouraging. I work with different subject matter, including christian themes, iconography, landscapes, portraits, and self portraits. I like to work with acrylic paint.

Being an artist makes me feel happy and I like to share my ideas and self-expression with others’. Working with colour makes me feel joyful. I make art to express how I feel. My family, movies, cooking, and my love of musicals inspire me. I am also a big fan of Harry Potter and Daniel Radcliff is my favourite actor. I hope you enjoy viewing my artwork.
