This programme teaches drawing and printmaking. The programme will culminate in an exhibition of the participants’ work – and will train them in a methodology that has a commercial application and outcome.

Spark Studio’s long term goal is to establish a gallery outlet within their premises and within other gallery contexts, for framed prints. This programme will prepare the artists for this goal, assisting them to develop a rigorous printmaking practice.

Participants will learn the techniques and processes of observational drawing and printmaking. Subject matter of interest will be explored with artists developing a personal iconography and style. The outcomes will be the production of items such as handmade cards and mounted prints which have the potential to be saleable items.
